We woke up this morning in South London to snow. I always go for a run and as it was early this morning,8am and nobody else was about, I thought it would be an opportunity to take my pocket camera with me.
Here is Canon Hill, a few roads from where I live, overlooking Canon Hill Common. Canon Hill got it's name, reputedly, because it was land owned by the canons of Merton Abbey in the Middle Ages.

Later in the day we decided to walk on Wimbledon Common. There are some good slopes there for sledging down.
A snowman on The Common.
Winter trees on The Common this morning.
People having fun in the snow.
A view looking across the common. This part of the common is a golf course, The Royal Wimbledon Golf Course, when it is not covered in snow.
My goodness, Tony, you can get fine and interesting results even with a small pocket camera -- amazing.
ReplyDeleteFabulous, Tony. I love that snow dragon. We, on the other hand, are having such a mild winter that I saw a robin yesterday building a nest! Our average temperature this winter has been 47.5 degrees Farenheit, or 8.61 Celsius. That's average. During the day it has been 50-60 degrees, or 10-15 degrees Celsius.
ReplyDeleteLove the dragon! Great imagination when everyone else is building snowmen. We, in North Carolina Piedmont, are having a mild winter. No snow this year. So I enjoy seeing yours even more than usual.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, Tony!
ReplyDeleteThanks, as always, for sharing!
