Very interesting to read - I like the way you combine historical and artistic information with the personal experience of you and Marilyn. I would love to visit Venice. In fact, Italy is top of my list of places I must visit. Thanks for sharing. Good pictures, too!Clive Baughhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10523779808271053053noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3713948124674580839.post-17064827156543257042012-04-22T10:23:24.763-07:002012-04-22T10:23:24.763-07:00Tony, Italy is my most favorite place in the world...Tony, Italy is my most favorite place in the world, and I especially loved Venice. Rome was terrific as well. Walk into any church, and you had a chance to see a masterpiece. I wish I could just pop on over.:)Mary Simonsenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03400923132711871703noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3713948124674580839.post-72668264230258913652012-04-21T14:52:30.834-07:002012-04-21T14:52:30.834-07:00Tony, this post makes me WANT to go to Venice so m...Tony, this post makes me WANT to go to Venice so much. I want to sit in a cafe along one of the canals. Was four days enough? I would have hated to leave.

To change the subject, have you seen the film Bread and Tulips? It made me see Venice in an entirely different light and from a more ordinary perspective. It's a comedy that I think you and Marilyn might like.Vichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08625129602519836148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3713948124674580839.post-20094331249346808162012-04-20T09:21:37.902-07:002012-04-20T09:21:37.902-07:00Jean, don't worry. Ryanair is great for short hall flights. It's all very quick and efficient even though you might feel you are rushed on and off. I am not sure they could carry the same concept to long hall.

We have a lot of holidays in Europe. Sometimes we cross the channel and drive. Sometimes we do these short hall flights. I suppose we are lucky in that we are part of Europe!!!!!!!

You and your husband would love Venice I am sure. There is the wonderful architecture but it is also a culinary paradise if you like Italian food and wine.

All the best,
TonyTONYhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07767998391294014275noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3713948124674580839.post-48467175082136935732012-04-20T07:51:17.927-07:002012-04-20T07:51:17.927-07:00Thank you, Tony, for sharing your and Marilyn'...Thank you, Tony, for sharing your and Marilyn's trip to Venice. As always with your posts, I now feel as if I had been there myself! I prefer to travel lightly myself with the tiniest possible carry-on. I've never tried Ryanair, would be interesting. I hope when they are selling perfume they don't actually open any bottles. A lot of us are highly allergic to fragrance and would be made quite ill.Jean | DelightfulRepast.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02038772991628796917noreply@blogger.com
